Job Overview:
We are seeking a licensed, compassionate and experienced Embalmer/Funeral Director to join our team. As a Embalmer and Funeral Director, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to grieving families during their time of loss. You will oversee all aspects of funeral arrangements, ensuring that each service is conducted with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with families to discuss funeral arrangements and provide guidance on available options
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including visitations, ceremonies, and burials
- Prepare the deceased for burial or cremation, including embalming, dressing, and cosmetology
- Arrange transportation of the deceased to the funeral home or cemetery
- Assist families in completing necessary paperwork, such as death certificates and permits
- Provide bereavement support to grieving families, offering counseling and resources as needed
- Collaborate with clergy members, musicians, and other service providers to ensure a seamless funeral service
Experience:
- Previous experience in embalming and funeral directing is required.
- Strong knowledge of funeral service practices and customs
- Familiarity with anatomy and physiology is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide compassionate support to grieving families
- Proficient in sales techniques to assist families in selecting appropriate funeral services and merchandise
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks related to the preparation of the deceased
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
