Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, a full-service funeral home and cemetery serving Northern Utah families for over 90 years, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Service Intern to join our team.
This position is ideal for a student currently enrolled in a mortuary science program or preparing to begin their schooling. The role provides meaningful, hands-on experience in all aspects of funeral service under the supervision of licensed professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed funeral directors in day-to-day operations.
- Participate in the preparation, care, and presentation of decedents.
- Support arrangement conferences, visitations, and funeral services with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of work areas, vehicles, and equipment.
- Assist with filing, record keeping, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Uphold the highest standards of care, respect, and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited mortuary science program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a desire to serve families compassionately.
- Dependable, professional in appearance, and able to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of the funeral service schedule.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
