Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of funeral services, including arranging floral displays, seating, and ceremonial items
- Support families through compassionate bereavement support, offering guidance and comfort during difficult times
- Coordinate logistical details for funeral events, including transportation, venue setup, and scheduling
- Manage heavy lifting tasks related to casket handling, equipment setup, and transportation of memorial items
- Collaborate with funeral directors to ensure smooth execution of services and adherence to family wishes
- Engage in sales activities by providing information about funeral packages and additional services to families
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the funeral home facilities to uphold a respectful environment
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to supporting grieving families
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in accordance with safety guidelines
- Experience or interest in funeral directing or event planning is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to learn about bereavement support techniques and sales strategies within the funeral industry
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed for funeral services
- Prior experience in sales or customer service is a plus but not mandatory
