Managing Funeral Director – Full-Time | Maryland Cremation Services | Anne Arundel County, MD
This position is open only to currently licensed funeral directors. This is not a training or entry-level position.
Maryland Cremation Services is a non-corporate, independent funeral home and crematory in Anne Arundel County. This is a high-volume direct cremation focused operation that has been serving families since 2008.
We are hiring an additional full-time Licensed Funeral Director as part of our effort to structure a business that provides a better work-life balance than is typical in this industry.
You will join an established, supportive team and will not be expected to do everything yourself. Many of our team members — including the crematory operator, office staff, and current funeral director — have been with us for 5 or more years.
Compensation
- Starting salary: $60,000 per year
- Higher salary available based on experience

Responsibilities
- Meet with and guide families through arrangements with professionalism and compassion
- Serve as the primary point of contact and public face of the funeral home
- Help direct staff and support the overall running of the business
- Work collaboratively with our existing team of assistants, drivers, crematory operators, and office manager
Requirements
- Current Maryland Funeral Director license (required)
- Valid driver’s license
- Familiarity with the Maryland region and local facilities/institutions (hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, OCME, SAB, etc.) required
- Experience managing direct cremation operations strongly preferred
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well with both families and staff
